Conserving carolina is a non profit conservation organization working to preserve land and water resources in western north carolina. conserving carolina was created in july 2017, from a merger of two previously separate organizations, carolina mountain land conservancy and pacolet area conservancy. With your help, conserving carolina is creating new parks, trails, and greenways. we’re protecting mountains, foothills, rivers, and farms—over 47,000 acres so far.

Jurisdictional boundaries and narrow site specific foci must be transcended if conservation efforts are to fully protect biological diversity in the face of climate change, expanding urban areas, wildfires, and other ecological developments. The land trust alliance powers our nearly 1,000 member land trusts to permanently protect and conserve the land we need and love, ensuring it will be there for today and tomorrow.
