I'm in my fifth year here at penn state unfortunately. i see so many people who love and adore this place, and i despise the classes and professors. i'm an engineering student and i feel like the majority (80 90%) of professors i've had to take for core classes are just atrocious. Dean capone was to straighten this situation out, but it is worse than ever. dean has the worst reputation on campus and has hacked up most of the acoustics department. I have a good balance of my social and work life, all while getting after it in the books. academics is sometimes challenging for me, so sometimes i will have to study more than hanging out with my friends, but it happens sometimes. There are a bunch of places as bad as penn state, too. that said, i agree that out of state tuition is rough just about anywhere it's just that i think there's this refrain that psu is the worse public university for out of state tuition, and it looks like it's just top 10 bad (maybe top 5).
