Just Transition Bmz In order to keep the impacts of climate change within manageable limits, we need to ensure that lifestyles and economies worldwide become climate neutral by mid century. this transformation must be socially just and take place in cooperation with the countries of the global south. The principle of “just transition” is a guiding principle for the work of the bmz in the context of sustainable urban development: just transition is relevant in all urban thematic areas such as construction, urban infrastructure, energy, water, mobility, circular economy and nature based solutions and can be linked to local employment.
