Julies Learning Journey Term 3 in room 13 sees the return of matua tim for a 6 week practicum, class assembly in week 2, milk for schools, daffodil day, cross country, social science topic 'our many cultures' just to start with, and promises to be another exciting and busy term all squeezed into 9 weeks. Julie’s approach (and efficacy) is rooted in three guiding principles: class content must be learner driven, and instructors must maintain a non judgmental, welcoming atmosphere.
Julies Learning Journey “i’ve always been passionate about giving back. after i received my hiset diploma, i decided to tutor other students at julie’s to support them on their journey of furthering their education. Regardless of the barrier, julie’s is there to ensure your learning and family both come first. but julie’s is also there to watch you see it through. with helping over 200 learners each year, all starting at different levels, they currently graduate ten throughout the year. Julie S Journey Since 1974, julie’s family learning program has been dedicated to empowering mothers to recognize their strengths and utilize their know how to stabilize and transform their family life. "each of julie's programs from our infant, toddler, and preschool services to our adult basic education classes is essential to the healing, growth, and ultimate stability of the women, men, and children we serve. Julie’s family development strand of programming includes an adult education component, an early childhood component, a parent support component, and an intergenerational component which brings parents and their children together onsite for engaging learning activities. Last year, a record number of students at julie’s earned their high school equivalency and were supported in taking their next steps—whether enrolling in college, entering vocational or training programs, or joining the workforce. Julie’s interactive family literacy curriculum engages parents and children in goal setting, family projects, digital literacy, shared cultural experiences, problem solving strategies, and critical and creative thinking. “julie’s is important to me, and i will forever hold it in my heart. julie’s has gotten me to see my dreams. i finally graduated with my high school equivalency – but it’s not only that, every teacher there gives you that push, that hope to keep on succeeding.”.
