Jesus Our Servant Robert Griffith We owe jesus everything. he owes us nothing. but that doesn’t keep god from choosing to serve us, his servants. jesus served us when he died for us. he said about himself, “for even the son of man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (matthew 20:28). In john 15, jesus tells his disciples that this psalm is talking about him. from this psalm, we can learn three things about what jesus came to do: 1) he came to be a servant, 2) he came to be hated, and 3) he came to be exchanged.
Jesus Our Peace Robert Griffith He knew he had already sold him for thirty pieces of silver. leadership literature has spent decades trying to articulate what jesus demonstrated in that upper room in a single, wordless act. robert greenleaf formalised it in 1970 and called it 'servant leadership'. the harvard business review has published hundreds of articles trying to unpack it. Being a servant in our world means being suppressed, even trod upon. but in the biblical context, it takes on a totally different meaning: one of freedom and devotion.
