Jericho Jackson Album Review Beezy430
Jericho Jackson Khrysis Elzhi Are Jericho Jackson Album Review New formed duo jericho jackson consist of elzhi & khrysis released their debut album back in february. even though i didnt end up doing this with the dehh crew i had to tell y'all my thoughts. The song “listen” gets romantic over a smooth instrumental & the penultimate track “breguets” gets braggadocious about elzhi’s rapping prowess over a jazzy beat. the album then closes perfectly with “thank you”, where elzhi gets grateful for his success over a soulful boom bap beat.
Jericho Jackson Khrysis Elzhi Are Jericho Jackson Album Review The mixing can be a little overbearing at times, and the countless plug pulling on the best beat on the album, "self made," aggravated me a lot more than it should have, but it's a fun sound all around regardless. of course, however, it's elzhi who is consistently the star of the show. This duo caught me off guard but it makes sense… khrysis is one of 9th wonder‘s in house producers and elzhi from the legendary group slum village sounds like a great combo to me, together they are jericho jackson. 11 songs on here, short and straight to the point but packed with a lot of gems. Now with khrysis hell, dig into the liner notes of justus league, little brother, rapsody and jean grae and you'll see a list of credits going back to the early 2000s, infused with the sort of textured, jazz influenced samples that'd be a natural backdrop for elzhi to dominate. It's clear that he has a lot to accomplish, but jericho jackson shows that he'll have the music to achieve it all. thanks to khrysis, he'll have production that is varied enough to help him grow. and elzhi will have content that will resonate with fans, both old and new. as long as he doesn't overthink it.

Overall i can't say that the album is groundbreaking or anything, but it's a highly enjoyable effective dose of straight up hip hop with no gimmicks needed. it knows what it wants to do, it does it and delivers it quite well. For my 916th review, veteran producer khrysis and detroit powerhouse elzhi team up for a flawed but potent collaboration.best songs: 'overthinking', 'listen'. Honestly, i'm of a few minds on this album, the majority of them positive, but also confronting some circumstances that i'm not really sure could have been avoided. Fans who lost faith in him need only listen to this lp to reaffirm their appreciation for his artistry. exclaim! like it or not, elzhi's new identity resists old temptations: the rakish and somewhat undisciplined rapper of ten years ago is gone, at least for now.
