Jd Jetting Explained
Home Jd Jetting With the james dean (jd) jetting guide, you can use your own bikes’ jetting to graph and compare. see the combined effects of pilot, needle, clip position, and main jet. These two things effect your jetting and it is worth considering changing your jetting at least twice a year to get the best power out of your bike (start of summer and winter).
Home Jd Jetting Jimmy lewis explains the jd jetting power surge 6x power tuner and shows how easy it is to tune your fuel mixture with the push of some buttons. What does jetting a dirt bike mean? jetting a dirt bike is just changing the size of jets and adjusting the needle to change the air to fuel ratio (afr). a correct afr will yield the most power, efficiently, reliability, and run the cleanest. No matter the altitude or riding conditions, the jd jetting jet kit is designed to provide the perfect fuel air mixture. motorcycle performance depends heavily on jetting because it affects the engine’s efficiency, power delivery, throttle response, and fuel consumption. Changing the main jet can't be expected to have any effect on idle or off idle. the main jet doesn't really have a significant effect until you have the throttle nearly wide open and are running in the upper rpms. why are you not changing the pilot jet?.

Do you see any improvement with the air screw at 1 turn out? if yes first try a richer pilot jet. also make sure your float level is set correctly before any fine tuning, if too low (greater measured value) it will lean out the metering on all circuits. The light #3 in each color zone is going to use the stock setting, and pass the same signal directly thru to fuel your bike. when the setting is lower, like 2.5, 2, or 1.5, then the jetting is leaner. when the setting is increased, like 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, etc, then the jetting is richer. The jd blue marked needle is richer 0 1 8 throttle from the needle straight diameter compared to the nedh, nech, and jd red marked kit needles. this gives some extra fueling and low end throttle response, although it can increase spooge and sometimes load up if not riding faster harder.
