Implementation Botanic Garden This manual is intended for botanic gardens and arboreta as ever evolving institutions that respond to environmental and societal needs, changes and challenges. it is not meant to be prescriptive but to offer guidance and ideas with case studies from around the world. This chapter is intended to provide an outline of the steps and strategic thinking recommended for the planning, design and construction of a botanic garden project of any scale or complexity.
Implementation Botanic Garden Bgci’s manual outlines the essential steps for planning, developing, and managing botanic gardens, emphasizing the importance of a well defined vision and strategic planning. it covers topics such as project design, feasibility studies, and the significance of pre operations for long term success. Tourism activities in botanic gardens are required to maintain the sustainability of botanic gardens as plant ex situ conservation. since 2021, the private sector has managed tourism in the bogor botanic garden. Eden project, ecorium project and konya tropical botanical garden are prominent tourist destinations by their role in exhibition, conservation, education and research. the selected projects support community engagement activities that can contribute to the sustainable development goals. Bgci is a leadership and catalyst organisation that works to promote botanic gardens as a professional community, share knowledge and skills and mobilise funding for plant conservation.

In this minireview, a framework for the integrated missions of botanical gardens, including scientific research, in ex situ conservation, plant resource utilization, and citizen science are cataloged. In consultation with the association, the fellows determined that a toolkit and visual guide would have broad impact on a growing segment of the public garden constituency—new gardens at various stages of early development. Every botanic garden needs new plants and plant material, in order to maintain active collections. there are various routes for plant material acquisition for gardens. The establishment of botanical gardens conservation international (bgci) and its leadership in the development and implementation of a global strategy for plant conservation, further solidified the status of botanic gardens as instrumental agents in the mitigation of plant biodiversity loss.
