Working with academic and industry partners, lift developed ignite: mastering manufacturing, a modular, three year hybrid program giving students theoretical and hands on experience in a wide range of advanced manufacturing applications. Lift (lightweight innovations for tomorrow) focuses primarily on advanced materials, manufacturing processes, systems engineering and talent development and is funded by the department of defense. The program’s cornerstone is ignite: mastering manufacturing, a three year foundational curriculum designed to introduce high school students to materials science and advanced manufacturing.
