Colt Identification Colt Forum Hello all, i need help with identifying this colt 1911 i have determined by the sn on the frame that it was manufactured by colt in 1917. it has the vp proof mark in a triangle at the left front of the trigger guard showing that it is a m1911a1. A sub for the history, discussion, questions, and pictures of all colt firearms from saas to ar 15. from prospective owners to current owners, welcome to r colt. Reference and technical data pertaining to the colt black powder revolvers read only!. Anything other than colt or fn? i thought there was an anad marking on this rifle somewhere or possibly on the packaging in which it was received that indicated a date of 1984 but i'm unable to locate those markings to be sure.

A number of colt pistols have a number in the same place, usually a double digit. i'm leaning towards it being a colt quality control inspection number for finished pistols. I am on this forum to ask a question about some percussion firearms i have purchased, and maybe see if anyone else has my issue. i recently have gotten a new 1851 pietta colt navy in 44, along with a taylor’s pietta 1860 sheriff. now something strange i have noticed on both of these is that. I have an old colt 45 that needs some tlc. it is very similar to the one in this diagram, except that the base pin is held in with a single screw underneath.
