It centralises information for academics and industry on access to the three large pan european adaptive platform trials currently underway: discovery, eu solidact & remap cap. Between 2001 and 2019, 16 platform trials were initiated globally. the covid 19 pandemic seems to have provided a new motivation for these designs. we conducted a rapid review to quantify and describe platform trials used in covid 19. In the first part of a two part blog for clinical trials day 2021 we look back at a year of covid 19 studies registered at the isrctn registry, starting with the platform and repurposed drug treatment trials.
