Ict4s Leverage Points
Levers And Leverage Points For Pathways To Sustainability At Rose This lecture introduces the concept of leverage points from systems thinking in the ict4s course. The international conference on ict for sustainability (ict4s) brings together leading researchers, industry, government, public sector, civil society representatives with an interest in using, analysing, designing and deploying ict for environmental, social, technical and economic sustainability.
Stage 4 Implementation The Ict Lounge Pdf Information Technology In an earlier ict4s paper, my student dawn walker and i reflected on a mapping project from the perspective of sustainability design. in an ieee software article last year, we used a system dynamics approach and the concept of leverage points to examine what role software can play in sustainability. Middle powers need a strategy to navigate technological interdependence: build resilience where it counts and use leverage wisely to stay competitive. This paper provides an autoethnography of the use of leverage points to reduce cognitive load for a computer worker, with insights from literature and self experiments, as well as a discussion on what is needed for changes on a bigger scale. In this special issue, we draw together a diverse collection of research that engages with this central idea.

Browse the leading magazines in computing offering topical peer reviewed current research, developments, and timely information. During the workshop, we will investigate the long term impacts of green tech solutions, specifically in ict, which are avidly promoted by technology companies and supported by governments in the global north, as a matter of climate injustice. In this workshop, we aim to foster an interdisciplinary discussion around three questions: 1) how can ai be used to better implement earth law? 2) how can ai be designed more environmentally sustainable in compliance with earth law? 3) what are the political options and barriers in this context?. The field of ict for sustainability (ict4s) has developed conceptualisations of these systems such as the les model that describes their “enabling impacts” upon production and consumption.
