When i set authentication method password in the configuration profile and deploy it to the endpoints, it just works as it should, except i'm not getting the window to enable passkeys for the company portal, as shown in the article above. When i log in foundry and click on add a passkey in the user settings, it needs a usb security key to proceed but i never set that up initially, i just did windows pin. Windows 10 does not support the prf extension that is required to make passkeys work for encryption. if you have access to a windows 11 computer, you could try to set up the key up, to verify that this is the source of the problem.
