Beaver Deceiver There are different designs, but each consists of a pipe that runs from one side of the dam to the other with a mechanism that will block beavers from plugging it up. ideally, the pipe will be underwater so the beavers can’t hear the trickle that usually would call them to action. Beaver related flooding issues can usually be resolved with properly designed and installed water control devices, also known as flow devices. flow devices are either specially designed pipes installed through beaver dams, or pipe and or fence systems that protect road culverts from being blocked. If a larger drainage capacity is needed, levelers can be built with larger diameter pipes, a few levelers can be used in combination, or alternatives without pipes, such as a beaver deceiver or a beaver baffler can be installed.
