How Does A Beaver Deceiver Work
Beaver Deceiver There are different designs, but each consists of a pipe that runs from one side of the dam to the other with a mechanism that will block beavers from plugging it up. ideally, the pipe will be underwater so the beavers can’t hear the trickle that usually would call them to action. Our effective, non lethal defenses end conflicts for decades while allowing for the possibility of keeping live beavers in ecosystems. therefore, our products represent a fiscally, ecologically, and ethically responsible approach.
Beaver Deceiver Install They address the issue of clogged culverts that beavers can impose while still protecting our critical wildlife. a beaver deceiver is a modern flow device fence system (round, square, or trapezoidal) made of wood and or mesh that acts as a protective barrier against beavers for culverts. Beaver related flooding issues can usually be resolved with properly designed and installed water control devices, also known as flow devices. flow devices are either specially designed pipes installed through beaver dams, or pipe and or fence systems that protect road culverts from being blocked. This structure utilizes a plastic culvert and heavy duty fencing installed in the beaver dam, allowing water to drain to a lower level. three staff and 6 volunteers worked the better part of a rainy day on this installation. The beaver deceiver works by eliminating the sound cue. it consists not only of a fence around the culvert, to prevent beavers from damming the mouth, but also a submerged pipe system that projects through both the fence and the culvert.

If a larger drainage capacity is needed, levelers can be built with larger diameter pipes, a few levelers can be used in combination, or alternatives without pipes, such as a beaver deceiver or a beaver baffler can be installed. This beaver control device has a 99% success rate, controls beaver damming, prevents beaver damage, requires little maintenance, and maximizes the environmental benefits of the beaver pond. To protect neighbors and wildlands, knlt installed a “beaver deceiver,” a simple flow device that regulates the water level upstream without disturbing the beavers or the dam they built — a win win for wildlands on pine mountain. In this video, skip demonstrates how to build a flow device called a beaver deceiver.
