Housing Access Program Community Vision Community vision believes that everyone should have access to an affordable home. we work with people with disabilities and their families to overcome barriers to housing. our customized, one on one assistance provides support for people looking to rent their own home. The office of housing & community empowerment (ohce) brings together affordable housing, homelessness solutions, and fair housing to create a clearer, more coordinated system for residents, so fewer people fall into homelessness, more affordable homes are produced and preserved, and resident rights are protected.

The project access program utilizes section 8 housing choice vouchers administered by tdhca to assist low income persons with disabilities in transitioning from institutions into the community by providing access to affordable housing. Last week, west dallas neighbors reviewed a wide range of solutions for short and long term housing and land use as part of phase two of the west dallas community vision plan. Everyone deserves a place to call home. we are fighting for greater public investments in housing initiatives, a diverse mix of housing options, and the protection of existing affordable homes in our city. Our mission is to provide affordable quality housing and access to supportive resources across north texas. we strive to create housing solutions in healthy, inclusive communities that offer economic, educational, and social growth opportunities. Joseph joined the housing access program in march 2021. at the time, he was living with his parents and his 6 year old son and receiving support from our community living team.
