Washu launched the college prep program (cpp) in 2014. the cpp is a free, three year immersive learning experiences that serves to successfully prepare first generation high school students for college life. A mid sized private research university, washu consistently ranks among the top universities in the country in terms of value, quality of life, and dorm quality. academics are central at washington university in st. louis. the school offers more than 250 majors and numerous specialized programs. Washu's college prep program serves st. louis area students who will be first generation (being a first gen student means that your parents did not complete a 4 year college or university degree) and whose family has an annual total household income of $75,000 or less. During their four years in the college prep program, students gain significant academic knowledge and experience, form bonds with their fellow scholars, and gain a greater understanding of college life.
