Home Brain Research Center Our research focuses on understanding brain health, including reasoning and decision making, the developing brain, standardizing a holistic measure of brain health, social cognition, biomarkers, alzheimer's, sleep, multiple sclerosis, addiction and more. To understand how prenatal and early life experiences alter neurodevelopmental trajectories and shape health outcomes, several nih institutes, centers, and offices collaborated to support and launch the healthy brain and child development (hbcd) study.

Home Brain Research Center The center works through research programs to understand the brain’s ability to restore or protect healthy brain function, protect the brain from unnecessary mental decline, and heal the brain through treatments that regenerate brain function. Connect with the nation’s leading child development and neuroscience researchers to participate in the hbcd study and help uncover the experiences of early childhood that can affect an individual’s future. To better understand how these factors, alone and in combination, interact with genetics and other biological influences to affect a child’s mental and physical health over time, nih is conducting the healthy brain and child development (hbcd) study. Research being conducted at the gordon and mary cain pediatric neurology research foundation laboratories seeks to understand better the biological origins of childhood epilepsy, related learning disabilities and other neurological disorders, and to develop new therapies and treatments.

This study will determine how childhood experiences (such as sports, videogames, social media, unhealthy sleep patterns, and smoking) interact with each other and with a child’s changing biology to affect brain development and social, behavioral, academic, health, and other outcomes. Center for brainhealth leads scientific research to enhance and restore the brain. learn how to exercise your brain to work better and faster today!. Center researchers use cutting edge brain imaging technologies and advances in cognitive science to understand how the brain changes from young to old adulthood, the consequences of neural aging for everyday function and what interventions show promise for slowing cognitive aging. The center for human development at uc san diego is the home of the coordinating center for the adolescent brain cognitive development (abcd) study, the largest long term study of brain development and child health in the united states.
