Through this program, companies, non profit organizations, and entrepreneurs based in kansas or that employ a significant number of kansas residents can hire their first micro intern for free up to $500 if the selected undergraduate student is enrolled in a kansas public college or university. To give youth more options, mayor quinton lucas, along with the city council, are working with hire kc, the city’s signature youth based internship program, to move internships online. This course requires permission from the instructor to enroll, additional coursework outside of the internship conducted via the internet, working a minimum number of hours a week at the internship, and finding an internship via your own connections or the resources at the university career center.
