"portraits of the hibakusha—80 years remembered," an exhibition featuring lenticular portraits of atomic bomb survivors alongside their powerful stories, was shown in tokyo. Meanwhile, the aging of the hibakusha means that each day the number of persons who can tell their a bomb story declines. with all this in mind, we have solicited drawings of the atomic bombing to preserve a pictorial record created by eyewitnesses of that disaster. Their three dimensional images and their stories will say much more than words alone. these holographic portraits are documents of national and global significance, and ensure that the hibakusha are memorialised as an archive of experiences that can be exhibited worldwide for future generations.

Harmonizing with the historical works, the exhibition also prominently features artworks by five contemporary artists, whose work retains the urge to memorialize the hibakusha experience. Under the philosophy of "art for inochi (life)" and "art for peace & ecology," we will convey the thoughts and feelings of hibakusha from hiroshima, nagasaki, and around the world through both physical and virtual world hibakusha exhibitions. During the final days of world war ii, the cities of hiroshima and nagasaki were devastated by atomic bombings, leaving unimaginable destruction and loss. this video shares drawings created by survivors, capturing the fear, grief, and resilience they experienced during that time.
