Hacc Theatreworks Performs Art Dallas theater center was the second regional theater to stage cruz and augustin’s version. because creole is not widely spoken in dallas, the creative team opted to remove it. the revised title was therefore more distinctive: our town nuestro pueblo. This is dallas theater center’s our town nuestro pueblo, directed with warmth and honesty (and an eagle eye for detailed and enriching theatrical possibilities) by tatiani pandiani—and starring a cast who look just like the “our towns” we live in here in north texas. Our mainstage production, spring, features a passionate world premiere by chicago based latina choreographer stephanie martinez, a multimedia production of slip zone suite, and the dallas. Our town, which won the pulitzer prize for drama, certainly qualifies. edward albee (who’s afraid of virginia woolf?) called it “the greatest american play ever written.” it has been produced on broadway four times, with the stage manager portrayed by the likes of paul newman and henry fonda.
