Guitar Tuner Oida Tech This is a device to tune an electric guitar. the guitar is plugged in the device and the device displays the note of the momentary played chord (one at the time) and the gap to the absolute tone of the note. In order to set the requirements on our hardware firmware we need to define what exactly we want to achieve. we want to capture the guitar signal and determine the exact frequency of the guitar note, display the note and the difference to the ideal pitch, in order to tune the guitar.

But we only want to use the device for tuning a guitar, and the highest note for a normal, standard tuning is the e4 with a fundamental of 329.6 hz. so we don’t have to bother cause there should be no fundamentals higher than 1000hz. We will use the usb only to download the firmware and for debug purposes during the firmware development, as the final guitar tuner will be a stand alone device without connection to a pc. the module requires only 5v as supply. We don’t need an analog digital converter. it is very simple, cheap , and there are almost no specific hw and computational power requirement toward the microprocessor. we only need a counter feed by a clock of defined period t = 1 fcounter .
