Equally important, what 8" Grizzly jointer should I buy? In relation to this, and 2) Grizzly uses proprietary carbide cutters that cost 3x as much as other similar sized carbide teeth. When I checked today 8/30/2019, 10 cutters from Grizzly were $90ish and 10 cutters from multiple other suppliers (same size but apparently not compatible) were $30ish. Grizzly Equipment Good or Bad? Grizzly and Shop Fox are associated companies, and in many cases the tools are nearly identical. SF has a dealer network and longer warranty, so when price is close SF is a wiser buy IMHO.
Wood Lathe G1495 - Woodworking Talk. From another angle, found a Grizzly wood lathe model G1495 for sale. Looks to have little use. It has a 14" swing and a 17" swing in a gap at the head stock. It has a 3/4 HP motor.

I'm sure the new saws you mentioned are excellent, but have you considered buying a used bandsaw? I recently bought a 1953 Delta 890 bandsaw for $250. It is a rock solid, cast iron, well-crafted tool. Mine is in great shape; it was ready to run as soon as I brought it home. It is missing a few modern conveniences, but you can't buy that quality of construction today.
