As a result of the war with austria and hannover in 1866, changes to simplify production and reduce the cost of manufacturing pickelhauben resulted in the model 1867.

Unfortunately, there does not seem to be any year or regimental marking so this could have belonged to any of the ten prussian grenadier regiments though there is a faint makers stamp.
