International Gregorian Chant Conference Cardinal newman week got off to a harmonious start this past weekend when 54 music enthusiasts attended the gregorian chant workshop, sponsored by the gerber institute for catholic studies. The mission of the international chant academy is to keep the beauty and meaningfulness of gregorian chant and early sacred music alive and relevant. we foster understanding of these art forms, and teach the musical and vocal skills necessary to excellent performance.

The musica sacra project warmly invites you to the fátima international gregorian chant workshop — a rare opportunity to study chant in one of the most beloved pilgrimage sites in the world. There is a full presentation that goes along with a guidebook handout. i've done this workshop twice now with great success. the instructional time is around three hours with a break in the middle. it covers the basics needed to get anybody chanting in english and basic latin.
