Greater Boston Climate Action Plan Mapc About the greater boston climate action plan (gbcap) partners across the metro boston region are working together to develop a regional roadmap to rapidly drive down greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions, slow the impacts of climate change, and realize near term community benefits. In march 2024, the lead agency, metropolitan area planning council (mapc), submitted the priority climate action plan (pcap) to the epa. the pcap is greater boston’s near term plan to address the urgent challenge of climate change by rapidly driving down greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions.
Greater Boston Climate Action Plan Mapc Between march 2024 and august 2025, mapc will continue to work with partners to develop a comprehensive climate action plan that will build on the measures identified in the pcap and establish emission reduction goals for 2030 and 2050. We are developing a regional plan to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and improve the quality of life for all residents. the region includes 168 cities and towns in eastern ma and southern nh. s workforce to implement the plan. The climate action plan is boston's roadmap for how we will reach our carbon emissions reduction and climate resilience goals. with the plan, boston will continue to develop as a vibrant and sustainable city for current and future generations.
