Qar Comprehension Strategies
Qar Comprehension Strategies

Qar Comprehension Strategies The question answer relationship (qar) comprehension strategy teaches students how to ask key questions about their reading, and then how to find the answers to their questions — whether it means locating a specific fact, drawing an inference, or connecting the reading to their own experience. In qar, there are four types of questions that need to be asked when reading a text: right there, think and search, author and me, and on my own. qar helps students understand the differences between in the book and in my head question answer relationships. The qar strategy enhances comprehension by categorizing questions into four types: right there, think and search, author and you, and on my own. this classification helps readers determine how to find answers, whether directly from the text or through inference and personal knowledge. You may use these lessons in their entirety, or you may use only the parts relating to a student‟s specific need: right there questions or think and search questions.
