Global Citizenship Program Arts Sciences
Global Citizenship Program Arts Sciences This two semester ampersand program introduces students to the literacies of career and life central to global studies, inviting them to examine global citizenship through both rigorous texts and real world scenarios. A college of arts & sciences education prepares students for the career and life changes they will encounter, the jobs that haven't been created yet, and a life of informed citizenship based on facts and reasoned arguments.
Global Citizenship Program Arts Sciences Meet the diverse teaching faculty of the global citizenship alliance, including academics and professionals who lead seminars on global citizenship education. Completion of the coursework and embedded experiences of this certificate will give students the tools to identify and actively manage the interpersonal challenges of the global and diverse workplace and gain a deeper understanding of the capabilities that they develop and the practical applications in the real world. Introducing literacies of career and life relevant to global studies, this first year ampersand program examines what it means to be a citizen of the world, challenging its participants to engage in both demanding texts and real life scenarios. The course uses an interdisciplinary lens, leveraging creative arts and social sciences to explore how individuals, households, and communities organise their lives around evolving spatial, cultural, and natural systems.

Students often combine global studies with other majors or minors in the college of arts and sciences, such as geography, sociology, anthropology, history, or a foreign language. our new graduate certificate program offers graduate students the opportunity to develop a global perspective on their research interests and career goals. In the bachelor’s programme global arts, culture and politics you will study the greatest challenges facing contemporary society, from climate change to social inequality, through the lens of culture, politics and the arts. With the global keystone seminar, this course is one of two seminars that focus on integrative learning and "bookend" the global citizenship program. topics vary and include interdisciplinary offerings in the humanities, arts and sciences.
