For the third film in our material series, glenn ligon takes us upstate to kingston, new york, to watch his long time collaborator, matt dilling, the founder of lite brite neon, transform glass tubing and noble gases into vivid language and forms.

For the third film in our material series, glenn ligon takes us upstate to kingston, new york to meet his long time collaborator, matt dilling, who founded lite brite neon in 1999. the two. Since 2005 ligon has made neons that push his practice into new, unexpected territories while remaining in dialogue with his text paintings. this is the first exhibition that brings together a significant number of these neon works, many of which have never before been exhibited in new york.
