Gis Chapter 1 Dc Public School Map Spatialnode A) chapter 1 explores a public map of washington dc. i completed this chapter in september of 2024. by following the steps in this chapter i explored the public map, configured the map symbology, configured map pop up window, configured filter and clustering, and saved the map. What i was achieving with this project was to create a color coded map that showed public school in washington, dc and the school walking areas. the distances are divided by color depending on the distance they are from the schools.

Chapter 1 project maps out dc public schools and provides data represented in three layers: school locations, safety incident locations (layer turned off), and a walking distance to school layer. schools are represented by a "school" icon. walking times are represented in colour. In my chapter one project, i used arcgis online to map walking times and ranges for schools in washington, dc. using available data and basic tools, i created an easy to understand map. Starting with the june 2024 release, many visualizations in edscape now include the option to toggle among four geographic views: comprehensive plan planning areas, 2022 ward boundaries, dcps high school boundary, and neighborhood clusters. Users can filter the following map to display the school facilities operating in sy2022 23 to sy2024 25 that offer specific grades, are located within a specific ward, or operate as dcps or public charter schools, as well as search by school name.
