German studies bachelor of arts or a german studies minor involves an interdisciplinary range of courses. these courses focus on: many of our students double major or complete a minor related to their major, including studies in business, public and international affairs or international studies. Undergraduate programs we offer b.a. degrees in french, german studies, spanish and french and spanish with teacher licensure, as well as minors and courses in a variety of other languages. Many of our language programs have active student language clubs, and our faculty members develop and accompany students abroad in chile, france, germany, and spain. The department of world languages and cultures offers classes in american sign language, arabic, chinese, french, german, italian, japanese, latin, portuguese, russian and spanish; as well as in literature, film studies, civilization, linguistics and classics. All majors must complete a series of german proficiency exams in order to graduate.
