Our work transformed the mineral gallery, heart of cornwall, and nature galleries, and created a stunning new upper level art gallery, showcasing the ric’s spectacular collection to the public for the first time.
Gallery Cornwall museum and art gallery has been shortlisted for the 2025 museums heritage awards, following a major phase in its transformation. Upon completion, cornwall museum and art gallery will have become a compelling visitor destination, a vibrant community centre and thriving arts hub. it will attract over 60,000 visitors a year. The design of the new heart of cornwall, nature, and art galleries form the foundations of a transformed visitor experience. this follows on from the recent mineral gallery renovation which launched in 2024 thanks to funding from the truro town deal. But with a building re shaped around a new visitor experience, and the ambition to welcome more and more visitors, users, speakers, partners and participants into our cool, airy architecture, cornwall museum and art gallery was the right name to join us in the future. The former royal cornwall museum in truro is to reopen on 1 march under a new name and visual identity. now known as cornwall museum and art gallery, the 200 year old institution is in the midst of a major transformation that began last year. The museum’s transformation includes the introduction of three key spaces: the heart of cornwall gallery, the nature gallery, and the art gallery. these new areas follow on from the recent renovation of the mineral gallery, completed in 2024 with funding from the truro town deal.
