I've had issues in the past with float switches getting "stuck" even out of the water. i'd also be curious if the float switch is sealed like the sensors are, so they may not be fully submersible. The float switch i had (just one of those generic white ones), doesn't appear to be at all reliable. even fully submerged, it would continue to think the water level was still low. I’ve started looking at generic float switches and all seem to involve combining with external controller and self wiring. i’m looking for a simple float switch that has an outlet and internal controller ready to go that will fit through one of my skimmer cup holes. I'd personally want to have an emergency drain that full siphon (you'll hear it) but keeps heated water moving to the display. but for people that do not have the ability for an emergency drain, sounds like a decent idea.
