Fridge Compressor Hackaday
Fridge Compressor Hackaday A noise and vibration free air compressor made of multiple modified fridge compressors connected in parallel. it's designed for generating pressurized air deep in the night without getting in trouble with neighbors or roommates. generating pressurized air without noise can also be a nice thing during the daytime. the airflow can be increased by just adding more modified fridge compressors. It’s both an opportunity for a look at the inside of a fridge compressor, and a commentary on the quality of consumer grade hardware.
Fridge Compressor Hackaday This project is how to reuse a fridge compressor to build the vacuum pump. the full project is open source and open hardware. you can find it on my hackaday’s pages here :. Of course, there’s nothing new about using a fridge compressor in the workshop. indeed, such units are even commercially available as compressors for low capacity tasks such as airbrushing. My very first finding was that a fridge compressor has a very weak air flow. its cpm (cubic feet per minute) is very low. but who cares for my application ? i just want to empty a vacuum bag then keep the pressure down. so it should work. vacuum produced is strong and even very strong. Here is a quick and dirty vacuum pump made from an old fridge compressor. starting the motor was the most.

Which compressor to pick for a specific refrigerant is also covered in the video, along with oil type and more. For silently producing pressurized air i plan to build an air compressor unit made of multiple fridge compressors. for that, i have to collect fridge compressors until they produce enough airflow to drive the plasma cutter. here you can see the two fridge compressors that i got so far. Now, compressor to engine conversions aren’t exactly new territory. we’ve seen both fridge compressors and automotive ac compressors turned into engines before.
