School Watling Primary School Forest school is an innovative, child led approach to learning that is rooted in the principles of play based learning, exploration, supported risk taking and hands on experiences. Our forest school lessons are led by the interests of our learners. over their time in forest school, children will enjoy such experiences as building shelters, woodland craft work, telling stories, cooking over fires, climbing trees, hunting for mini beasts and making mud pies.

For this reason, learning outdoors in our forest school is a key part of our provision. to support the development of the whole child, we promote our watling way values and captain learning characteristics at every opportunity. We are developing our forest school provision and are particularly looking for any donations of resources that may be used in a forest school: wooden planks, decking board lengths, plants, plant pots, allotment resources, etc. A brand new school environment with a focus on sustainability and eco principles e.g. solar panels, intelligent lighting, air source heat pumps, etc. dedicated forest school provision. outdoor areas including playing fields, multi use gym areas (muga), sensory landscaping, hard and soft play areas.
