First Robotics Competition The Collaborative For seven years, working under a nasa contract, the collaborative played a key role organizing and managing first robotic hands educational events across the country. We will meet to build and work on our robot every sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at portland state university science and education center. practices are not mandatory, but we encourage everyone to attend to learn more about robotics and build their skills.

The highest level of robotics competition offered by first. high school students team up with the world’s best technology companies to build the most impressive robots you’ve ever seen. built from scratch, these 5 foot tall, 140 pound robots compete in high intensity robo sports. with bragging rights at stake for schools and the companies that support them, robotics takes on a pro sports. “coopertition” blends the notions of both cooperation and competition. it is displaying unqualified kindness and respect even in the face of intense competition. Founded by inventor dean kamen, frc challenges students to design, build, and program industrial sized robots to play an original game that changes every year. it’s fast paced, hands on, and as competitive as any major athletic event—just with more gears, sensors, and strategy. Frc is an annual international robotics competition that involves nearly 1000 teams from around the world. the first frc event occurred in 1992, and the competition has been renowned for decades since.
