My first fully original completed build without the use of tutorials. i dont think i did too bad although im sure there are things that could be done.
Finally Made Something Without Tutorials R Blender I want to ween myself off of tutorials, since i feel they somewhat inflate my perceived ability, which makes me try and fail at more ambitious projects on my own, where i don’t really learn much of anything from my failures, except that i messed up something somewhere along my workflow. Do tutorials until you feel that you know enough modeling techniques to model something on your own. i did blender guru's donut, anvil, chair, cherry blossoms, lightbulb, and flag tutorials before i was able to make my first model. I've been lurking for a while and i am finally going to give this program a whirl. i want to learn how to reskin some game assets and i love seeing people who have jumped in and got entire items done!. My tactic was never to fully follow tutorials to begin with. i’d start a tutorial, watch it for a bit, try to work out what they did in my own way and only consult the tutorial if i couldn’t continue.

Without trying, you will never make mistakes that you can learn from. everybody here has tried something new within blender at some point, and i guarantee we have all failed miserably at it.
