Faqs Sharing Our Roots
Faqs Sharing Our Roots Our farm is a public facing farm; we exist to share with others. as an emergent commons based farm, we recognize our shared responsibility to steward and protect communal resources such as land and water, while building resilient and supportive farmer communities. Questions focused on understanding the experiences of gardeners and connectors, learning what motivated them to become involved in the garden, and what challenges or feedback they had about the program. participating gardeners received a $30.00 gift card for their time.
Sharing Our Roots Sharing our roots, a 163 acre farm based in northfield, provides equitable land access to immigrant, bipoc, & lgbtq farmers and gardeners through affordable land sharing and community gardens. Community connectors share ideas from different ethnic groups on how to get the best harvest. traditionally, we support growers to exchange different organic seedlings with each other from cultural crops and seeds such as managu, chinsaga, chiles, tomatillo, kale, corn, tomato, squash, cilantro, beans, and others. "that's a really great place to come and meet our farmers, and see what culturally important foods that they have, and that you can't really find anywhere else.". Our mission is rooted in racial justice and requires intentionality, action, and accountability across all aspects of our work. we believe our future, and the future of our planet, depends on our openness to sharing the best parts of ourselves and working cross culturally and intergenerationally.
