Bologna Epidoc Workshop 2019 Eagle Portal This site collects video tutorials and other training resources that can be used to support teaching and learning of epidoc – the use of tei xml for ancient documentary texts such as those on papyri, inscriptions, seals, and other supports. The institute of classical studies supports and contributes to a range of activities on behalf of the epidoc collaborative, including authoring of guidelines and documentation, teaching, training and other events, and the creation of the publication platform efes.

Epidoc Workshop Epidoc workshops have been run on several occasions over the past few years, with the intention of disseminating skills and experience and encouraging discussion on the topic of tei markup for the encoding of epigraphic, papyrological, and other ancient texts. Epidoc is an international, collaborative effort that provides guidelines and tools for encoding scholarly and educational editions of ancient documents. From october 30 to november 1 (november 6), the department of ancient history, archaeology and history of art is hosting an epidoc workshop and mappola training session led by dr, chiara cenati (university of vienna) and dr. marta fogagnolo (university of bologna). We are pleased to announce a 1.5 day introduction to epidoc workshop at brown university on oct. 5 6, to be held in conjunction with the visible words.
