Environmental Genomics Home We combine high resolution community sequencing with targeted qpcr to give operators, consultants, and utilities a clear, actionable view of their microbiome — from influent to effluent. trusted by operators managing wastewater, anaerobic digesters, industrial bioreactors, and more. Welcome to our team's page! the environmental genomics group headed by prof. eva h stukenbrock is affilated with the max planck institute for evolutionary biology in plön, and the botanical institute of the christian albrechts university of kiel in the state of schleswig holstein, germany.

Environmental Genomics Home The vision of environmental genomics is to define the gene environment underpinnings of human disease in ways that can lead to improved human health. although in its infancy, new genomic tools have helped this field make significant contributions to our understanding of common diseases. Our datasets will allow firms seeking a data driven supply chain strategy to more accurately measure, manage, and mitigate their impact on the environment and on human health and safety while operating more efficiently. Berkeley lab is helping build ai models for autonomous research that will enable prediction and precise design of biological systems. a first of its kind global study showed that ecofabs can deliver consistent results across labs on three continents, supported by open protocols, tools, and datasets. Students are reviewing the effects of glyphosate (g) alone and in 14 of its formulations in plants and rats, mouse and human cells. preliminary results indicate that arsenic, chromium, cobalt, lead and nickel are found in the pesticide formulations.

Environmental genomics is the study of genetic material left behind by organisms in the ecosystem in which they live or move through. through dna sequencing and bioinformatics, this environmental dna (edna) can reveal the biological characteristics of any environment. Environmental genomics™ grew out of work at the intersection of microbiology, process engineering, and data science. we’ve seen how hard it is to run complex systems when the biology is effectively invisible — and how powerful it is when that changes. 1 discovery & scoping we start with a focused conversation about your plant or system, current kpis, known pain points, and how often you need to act on data. together we decide where molecular data can change the story, and what success would look like. 2 sampling design we recommend locations, frequency, and duration for sampling — aligned with your operations, budget, and internal. We routinely support custom and emerging applications.
