Thanks the explanation! i have always wondered exactly how to run one and now i do, in case i ever go back in time and need to make a getaway, or travel to edmonton or san francisco. i'm curious how similar the controls are to modern light and heavy rail trams. Your 1987 photograph shows the rear controls of the earlier trams. in other words the tram driver is at the other end of the tram. the rear tram entrance is indicated on the right of the photo as 'in only' stenciled on the gate, then one accesses through the 'one way' rotating turnstile. Hope you guys would understand. but these are some amazing elevators and they are fast! i guess i won’t becoming back here anymore now that i finally got a good video. installed in 1981.
