The project is coordinated by the institut national de recherche for agriculture, food and environment (inrae, france), and the partnership is made up of 26 beneficiaries from 24 european countries. The main objective of ejp soil is to create an enabling environment to enhance the contribution of agricultural soils to key societal challenges such as climate change adaptation and mitigation, sustainable agricultural production, ecosystem services provision and prevention. By uniting researchers all over europe the programme tackled critical soil challenges such as biodiversity, organic carbon preservation, and erosion control. through innovative research and science policy cooperation, ejp soil helped shape policies and change agricultural practices.
