This egr cooler delete guide relates to the pd 140 (bkd) engine. the egr cooler on the pd 170 (bmn) engine is mounted underneath the exhaust manifold and much more difficult to remove, this guide will help, but will not be exactly the same setup.

I was really playing around with the egr last night. i had more wires and pressure meters it looked like dr. frankenstein's lab. any ways can you correct me if i'm wrong. the egr is used to recirculate to burnt fuel to the intake to be reburnt. there are 2 valves in the egr. Not sure exactly what you're asking but here's the main thing about cleaning the egr and the intake manifold it's attached to: do not get any of the coked up oil gunk into (or past) the valves!.
