It is recommended to create a separate user for the server (e.g. with the name edm), like for other servers and configure the software as a service on your system. Cross platform caqtdm is available for all major platforms. there are pre compiled versions for windows, macosx, android and ios (applestore). for linux currently the application need to be compiled via the provided build scripts.
