Draft Requirements Pdf Draft requirements for tillage tools (1) the power required to pull a tillage tool through soil depends on the draft of the tool and the traction developed by the power unit. Effective tillage requires an understanding of three interrelated topics: soil physical properties, draft (the horizontal force required to pull an implement through soil), and traction (the ability of drive wheels to transmit engine power to the soil surface).

Draft Pdf This bulletin provides a range of normal draft requirements for commonly used tillage implements. this information can help the teamster plan fieldwork, match implements with the power available and establish realistic guidelines for animal performance. In this research, a 72 hp research tractor with three common tillage implements applied to a loamy soil in south south, nigeria. implements included a 3 bottom disc plough, plus spring tine. Keeping in view the importance of draft requirements for tillage implements, the following points are suggested for development of dynamometer and prediction of draft. Draft measurements were compared to those predicted by asabe standard d497.5 (asabe standards, 2006) and were found to vary. it was declared that draft force of moldboard plow and field cultivator was about 2.14 and 1.8 times as much as the chisel plow and disk harrow, respectively.

Draft & fuel requirements measurement using tract on was measured using an emco pdp 1 fuel flow meter attached to the engine fuel line. the amount of fuel and time consumed was recorded directly by the data acquistion system. the draft of the tillage and plantin equipment was determined using strain gauges attached to the drawbar o. Field tests involved over 20 tractors and various disc harrow models in real working conditions. optimal fuel efficiency occurs at 70 80% of engine nominal speed in higher gears. tractor performance monitors (tpm) provide crucial data for optimizing tractor implement dynamics. A general regression equation to predict draft and power requirements of these implements on a clay loam soil was developed based on speed and depth parameter. Draft data for a range of conventional primary and secondary tillage implements under local conditions are essential for selecting the most energy efficient system.
