Do Not Despise Humble Beginnings Josephprince Do not despise these small beginnings, for the lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in zerubbabel’s hand.” (the seven lamps represent the eyes of the lord that search all around the world.). 10 do not despise these small beginnings, for the lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in zerubbabel’s hand.” (the seven lamps[a] represent the eyes of the lord that search all around the world.).
Do Not Despise Humble Beginnings Josephprince To be sure, god’s mission in the world does not culminate in a day of small things, and we would be wrong to rest content in such a day. but we also would be wrong to despise it. “for who [among you] is so foolish as to despise the day of small beginnings? for these seven will be glad when they see the plumb line in the hand of zerubbabel—these are the eyes of the lord which range throughout the earth.”. “do not despise these small beginnings, for the lord rejoices to see the work begin.” – zechariah 4:10. as we look at our lives, we come across many moments that seem insignificant but are truly foundational. these small beginnings remind us that we don’t need to have everything figured out. He's reminding me to not forget those small and humble beginnings—those in the past, or those i'll embrace as i face the future. no matter what you're facing today, friend, be encouraged.

"do not despise the day of small beginnings"—reminds me of the phrase, "little is much when god is in it." both phrases remind us that even our small acts of service and kindness, when touched by god's power, can have a far reaching impact on those around us. Therefore, beloved, if you do not want to bring the rod upon your own back, despise not “the day of small things,” but be ready to cherish and comfort all in whom the work of grace has apparently begun even to the lightest extent. Learn to disregard such people and lay your little before jesus. while you and i have no power to multiply, jesus certainly does! so whatever you are building right now in your career, your ministry, or your business, don’t despise the day of small, humble, and seemingly insignificant beginnings. This verse is a reminder to not underestimate the significance of humble beginnings. it emphasizes the importance of starting small, taking the first step, and planting the seeds of your dreams and aspirations.
