Devlog 1 Prototype For My New Game Late Night Snack By Lour01 Project blade is a third person action game prototype inspired by classic action games like prince of persia and danteโs inferno. instead of over scoping, iโm focusing on small, playable. We settled on creating a 2d pixel art side scrolling world, where the main character interacts with npc objects to gain emotions. drafts were done on the main character and npc design and a prototype of the side scroller player camera and interaction mechanic was implemented.
Minor Devlog 01 Ellie Demo By Morpho This is not a high end or complex game. instead, it is a simple but fun experience where players: ๐งญ navigate through a maze ๐ avoid enemies ๐ฐ find the treasure ๐ and look for a way out ๐ most importantly, i am building this game from scratch, and i want to share the entire journey along the way. As you already heard in my initial announcement, i would like to start my first small game project and accompany it with a dev log. my goal is to document my process, my insights, and ideas, reflect on them, and of course share them with you. A subreddit for news, help, resources, and conversation regarding unity, the game engine. The last couple of months i've been fiddling around with godot and did all sorts of random experiments, from educating myself and getting more comfortable with the engine, to building small prototypes, where i would challenge myself to build one specific thing first.
Devlog 4 Level Prototype Feb 14 20 Loop By Ectodrop Lycheeking A subreddit for news, help, resources, and conversation regarding unity, the game engine. The last couple of months i've been fiddling around with godot and did all sorts of random experiments, from educating myself and getting more comfortable with the engine, to building small prototypes, where i would challenge myself to build one specific thing first. I've decided to change the game engine from godot (which is a really amazing engine, especially now in version 4) to a custom made one, using sdl (probably 2) and some other libraries, like box2d and stuff (will discuss more on that later). Welcome to the first devlog for "nanojet" โ my 2d game engine built on top of webgpu! i've been working on this project on and off for a few weeks now, and there's already been quite a bit of progress. Feel free to reach out to me if you need me to explain some parts in more detail. next up in my todolist is to implement some form of spatial optimisation, because the biggest limitations of the project currently is the tiny simulation size and simplistic organisms. until next time!. What i need it for is as a cyberdeck style viewer of electronic prototyping. i have started testing what this could become and this is an early version of a more hackable electronic prototyping box that i can flip open whilst watching the tv for a quick bit of electronic tinkering.
