Instead of doing a singular review for each book, i have collected the reviews for all three books here. i listened to these consecutively, so i thought i would do the reviews back to back. I picked it up on an evening when the world felt a little too ordinary, a little too predictable, and within a few pages tim lebbon reminded me why i fell in love with fantasy and horror in the first place — because they crack open the mundane and let a little wild magic leak through. ‘relics’ was published in 2017 by titan in paperback, ebook and audiobook formates and i am thrilled to be sharing my review of a title which has been hanging around my tbr pile for a little too long!.

Tim lebbon's prose is often evocative and always gripping, relics is no exception. while an urban fantasy detective novel is hardly original, the way he handles the protagonists and the dark underworld of angels, demons and all the supernatural creatures inbetween feels fresh and different. Lebbon’s writing, as always, seduces the reader, inviting them into his imagination, while they find themselves immersed in the fantastic, horrific roller coaster ride which ends too soon. thankfully, relics will have two sequels to complete the journey. highly recommended.
