Raised in the bay area among civil rights activists and black panther radicals, huffman has a longstanding interest in change, speculative stories, and science fiction.

David Huffman Africanah Org This exhibition showcases the extensive narrative that huffman has been designing since the early 1990s across a range of media including large scale canvas, works on paper, ceramics, video, and printmaking. Born in 1963 and raised in berkeley, california, huffman grew up attending black panther rallies while simultaneously witnessing the apex of the american space program via the historic 1969 moon landing. The studio museum in harlem is the nexus for artists of african descent locally, nationally, and internationally and for work that has been inspired and influenced by black culture. it is a site for the dynamic exchange of ideas about art and society.
