Danielle Mate Sullivan Art Atrium A descendant of the murrawari people through her mother’s maternal side, and euahlayi people through her mother’s paternal grandmother, danielle has created a name for herself within the art world. danielle works collaboratively with a number of organisations promoting indigenous education and art. This artwork is created by danielle mate sullivan. the artwork shows the aboriginal person at the centre of the circle. they are surrounded by the team – medical, family and friends – that supports them, shown by the grey people around them. the orange and red blend behind the people is the warmth and positive emotion that connects this team. Danielle’s community work moves further than just her art. she has been responsible for running a selection of workshops helping to educate, involve, and collaborate with indigenous youth and issues through the medium of her art. Danielle acknowledges her culture through the kunja people of the cunnamulla region in south western queensland. her respect extends to her broader family and their special places on both sides of the queensland and new south wales borders as they play an important part in shaping who she is today.
