Custom Painted Lionel Train Model Train Forum Im getting into painting, detailing, and 3d printing parts for making custom locos and rolling stock. ive done some projects that have turned out quite well, few locos and freight cars with simple paint schemes and decals from major suppliers. I want to do some repainting, detailing, custom painting, or painting in general with model trains such as kato, tomix, microace, etc. i could use some technical advice. I've done a bit of searching through the forums and found some old posts circa 2014 around custom painting, but they didn't really cover specific tips or tricks, and perhaps someone can help me with decals ideas for the specific paint scheme i'm looking to do. I’m trying to get my hands on a couple of sw9 or similar models, and i would like to get them painted after the old st. lawrence railroad (it’s a long since defunct shortline).
